Page metadata

Note: Wagtail supports page metada checks as of version 8.1.

What is page metadata?

Metadata lives in the HTML of the page, and includes the page title and description used by search engines.

How are the lengths calculated?

The title length of around 580 pixels or 60 characters, and description length of around 160 characters, are approximations of how this metadata is displayed in search results, rather than hard limits.
